This section covers the previous maraji, which runs from 1256 AH up until our contemporary times. The reason why this year was chosen is that it represents the earliest photos we have of the marja` people, whether it be in terms of portrait or identification documents.
We have included these pictures only for the reason that it helps the common believers to identify with the visible authorities of the Muslims and link them to those that give the rulings. So whenever possible, we will have the verified picture of the marja` and if not a picture of his city, crypt or other relevant visual representation. We hope that this is both informative and enjoyable to readers.
